The sun is continuing to blaze into September, and though the soil is parched and lake and river levels are at their lowest, we all enjoy the reprieve before winter arrives. Kayaking is a popular sport around here and I've been on numerous mini-trips around various lakes and shorelines of Vancouver Island and the many smaller gulf islands that encircle it.
