West Coast Harps is a family business owned by Professional Harpist Alison Vardy and Sound Technician, Stephen Vardy. We started the business in 2005 to address a frequent request from Alison's students due to the dearth of new harps out west. After renting for a time and loving the harp, they were ready to buy a quality instrument and wanted more information and a selection of models to choose from before purchasing.

West Coast Harps now sells harps and other folk instruments (hammered dulcimers and bowed psalteries) to enthusiastic clients across Canada and have shipped to every province and two territories. We have over 60 terminals that we ship to across Canada, including Ottawa/Gatineau.

Each year we continue to expand our stock of lap and floor harps and now feature many different luthiers, each with models offering different attributes, uses and aesthetics. Dusty Strings FH36s

The FH36S is a professional level instrument of five octaves, starting on C 2 octaves below middle C and ending on C, 3 octaves above middle C. It is a beautifully crafted instrument from your choice of woods (maple, sapele, walnut or bubinga) built by the premier lever harp luthier in North America.

The spruce and mahogany soundboard and solid timber soundbox with 5-stave construction surrounds the player with a rich and even sound. Concert string spacing and moderate string tension ensure ease of fingering and dynamics. The Dusty Strings FH36S Harp has a depth, power, and responsiveness that makes playing seem effortless.
